Definition:  
Tone in speaking: 
The sound of the readers voice thats go up or down when they read poem, story, etc. 

Tone in writing: 
It's not very different from tone in speaking. In Speaking, We can know that by the way of the speaker say it. Same with writing every adjective and adverb you use, your sentence structure,etc… it will show tone. 


Example: 

When we talk in the happy mood, our voice will say the happy tone. 

Significance: 


Use Tone when you read something, it gives you a feeling to understand the emotion of the article.
