Extended Metaphor ♥

Definition: 
It's just like metaphor but instead just one line they compared in the whole poetry, story,etc. 


Example: 

The fog comes in on little cat feet.
It sits looking over the harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then, moves on. -

[ In the poem, the fog is the human in real life. They can face the problems in one life and sometime is death.]


Significant:
Extended metaphor makes the readers imagery and express better than metaphor. But still its can be complicated if the way that poets use are not right.
